Sleep Disorders: Insomnia Help

Do you have insomnia? You're not alone. Ten per cent of the population suffer from insomnia, which can be brought on by many reasons. Stress for example, is a common cause.

There are many ways to manage insomnia.

Here are some tactics to try:

* Get more exercise. When you're under stress, you need to exercise to burn off the stress hormones, otherwise they'll keep you awake. Aim for at lease half an hour of exercise daily, while the insomnia lasts;

* Herbal remedies, such as herbal teas, and essential oils. Pure lavender oil is widely available. Try a massage with four drops of lavender oil diluted in a tablespoon of vegetable oil just before bed.

Drinking chamomile tea throughout the day in preference to tea and coffee can also help.
